Gypsies in Romania . There are Gypsies (or Rroms)
in all counties in România. The first written document
mentioning Gypsies in Romania dates from 1385.
- Gabor Gypsies in Central Transylvania, usually have fair
skin, blue eyes, light color (blond) hair. The girl modeling
the GABOR outfit is part Romanian, part German, part Hungarian,
part Gypsy, part Aromanian, part Bulgarian, part Serbian,
part Polish, and part Armenian.
- "Tigani lingurari" or LINGURARI Gypsies. Lingura=spoon.
In the past, some Gypsies of this group used to carve wood,
making spoons, bowls, milking stools. The outfit you see here

- "Tigani cãldãrari" or CALDARARI Gypsies.
Cãldare=Cauldron. In the past, some Gypsies of this group
